Sharon Ellen Jensen is an artist with a passion for all water media – acrylic, watercolour, pastel, pen and ink, and pencil. She recently moved from Whistler to Gabriola Island, British
Columbia.
Educated at Simon Fraser University, Ellen studied art at college and has attended workshops with acclaimed artists such as Robert Genn, Stephen Quiller, Allan Wylie, Mike Svob, Janice Robertson, Tony O’ Regan and Brent Heighton. Ellen is a member of The Federation of Canadian Artists. She teaches watercolour painting techniques in her studio. Ellen’s love of the natural environment has long inspired her creative side. Her realistic paintings and drawings reflect the beauty of the landscape, from seascapes and majestic mountains to the smallest flower or forest detail. Ellen has displayed her works at the Adele-Campbell Gallery, Artrageous and Millennium Place in Whistler, and in Squamish at the Newport Gallery and the Adventure Centre. Commissioned work includes public art for the Resort Municipality of Whistler and Intrawest's Resort Development Group, as well as paintings for private collectors.
